Confirmed: Mandy Patinkin leaving Criminal Minds

Rube Back for Dead Like Me Movie?Taken from Hollywood Reporter:

“Last week, Mandy Patinkin asked to be released from his role on ‘Criminal Minds,’ ” the studios said in a joint statement. “We have honored this request, which was not in any way connected to contract renegotiations or salary issues. His departure from the series will be explained to audiences in an episode to be filmed in the near future and broadcast early next season.”

It has been confirmed now, that Mandy Patinkin will no longer be in the hit show: “Criminal Minds”

No news has been provided as to why he decided to leave the show, expect for “creative differences”.

Of course, fans of Dead Like Me are hoping it could be a sign of a possible return of Rube – Mandy Patinkin’s character in the show, but there is no evidence to this. (Not yet! But we can always hope…)

Sorry “Minds” fans, but fingers crossed DLM fans ;)

Season 4 of Dead Like Me? – It’s up to you!

Dead Like Me New Series Based On DVD SalesAs some of you know, Ellen Muth, the Star of Dead Like Me, has her own MySpace Blog / Page.

On June 30th, Ellen posted an announcement that if enough people buy the up-coming Dead Like Me Movie, there is a chance that it could lead onto the creation of a New Series!!

It seems that Season 4 will all depend on how well the DVD sells! The more sales, the more chance of a new series…

The exact quote from Ellens Blog:

Just to let all you DLMers out there know that this past week, I have been informed that after this “Dead Like Me” movie comes out, it may, go back to series. After seeing the movie, you’ll have to be the judge of whether or not you like the new concept. Give it a chance. I know we all hate change but it has been two years since season 2 so there has to be evolution.

DVD Sales have become more important in recent years, and with Dead Like Me the Movie going straight to DVD, the sales will be VERY Important. If you like the show – Show the Producers/Networks/People in charge that that Dead Like Me still has Life left in it.

Family Guy the amazing animated series is a perfect example of how a cancelled show can be brought back to life based on DVD sales.

However, Ellens announcement also has 77 comments based on the peculiar “whether or not you like the new concept” statement…

Ellen refused to explain the line on her MySpace Blog.

Hopefully more will be explained in the future…
