Dead Like Me Movie – 2 Years On…

It is being reported that the Dead Like Me Movie will be set 2 Years (!!!) after the end of the second series. 2 years is a long time! Think how many questions arouse and were answered in the 2 years that the show was running. It could mean that George has matured to a level beyond what some fans recognise. The changes between Ellen Muths character from series 1 and series 2 are very dramatic – changing from shy and reserved to being very outgoing. An additional 2 years could mean massive changes to the “George” that we know.

The news that the film is set 2 years after the series also kills any ideas that Cameron Kane is a temporary replacement for Rube, while he tries to find out what happened to his families money.

Will fans get any answers to the questions left open in the series? Or will the characters have discovered them in the 2 years that the viewers have missed?

We will have to wait and see…

Dead Like Me Movie Release Set back to Summer 2008

Dead Like Me Movie Release Set back to Summer 2008

It was reported that the Dead Like Me Movie would be released in May 2008, but it has been put back slightly to Summer. Do not worry; this is only a small set back. Fans of the Dead Like Me Series have waited 4 years for the release of a Film or new series. This is also only a set back for the release date, and plans have not changed for production of the Movie, which is already in filming.

This information was reported on Ellen Muths own MySpace blog, her comment can be seen below:

… As for the DLM movie, I’ve heard it is going to be released on DVD in the summer of 2008. If it sells enough copies it will go back to series on TV. If not, then they plan on doing a series of movies. Either way, we’ll get our annual injection of Dead Like Me…

Dead Like Me Movie WILL be Direct to DVD

Rumors around the internet have said that MGM; the company producing the Dead Like Me Movie, may show the film on TV, before releasing it onto DVD. This has been CONFIRMED NOT TRUE. The Dead Like Me Movie WILL be Direct to DVD.

This is a short message, but it is straight to the point, if you want to see the Dead Like Me Movie, do not worry about getting your cable setup for the premium ShowTime or Sky channels, just make sure you save yourself the money to buy the DVD. (And make sure you actually own a DVD player)

Let’s hope for a Blueray / HD-DVD release as well!

New Head Reaper and New Daisy…

It is now known that a new head reader named: Cameron Kane will be replacing Rube.
Cameron Kane will be played by Henry Ian Cusick. Most of you will know Cusick as Desmond Hume from the hit show “Lost”.

At the end of series 2 of Dead Like Me, Rube was trying to find out why money sent to his family never reached it’s destination. Has Kane been sent in as a temp until Rube returns?? It would make a great way to bring Mandy Patinkin back to the series.

Also, Laura Harris’s “Daisy Adair”, will be played by Sarah Wynter from shows such as “The Dead Zone”, “24” and Windfall.

Can you live with another Daisy? Would you be happy with a permanent replacement to Rube? Let us know in the form…

NO Rube & NO Daisy In Dead Like Me Movie

This confirms that Mandy Patinkin and Laura Harris will NOT be in the Dead Like Me Movie being released in may 2008 (expected).

BUT, there is going to be a new person replacing Laura Harris as the character Daisy. What does this mean? It basically means that, although unlikely anyway, it would not be possible for Laura Harris to return to her role even if the seires was to be picked up again.

What about Mandy Patinkin? Well, he is doing another episode of Criminal Minds, after leaving the show. So there could still be hope he returns if the series is picked up again. Hey, if Dead Like Me got another chance, maybe Mandy will give it another go too.
