Dead Like Me DVD Problems…

Problems with the Dead Like Me DVDsHi All — Just a quick post this.

I see in our forum that a few people have reported problems with their new Dead Like Me: Life After Death DVD Discs (Disks?) / and the new Series 1 and 2 Disks.

Problems with the “physical quality of DVD” — causing the disks to spin out of balance, make strange noises, and even pause in certain spots.

Now i’m not saying ALL DVDs are like this — But i would like to hear if your’s are ok.

You can add your comments about your disks in the Forum (In this Topic HERE) or you can use the Poll i’ve added on the right hand side of this page.

Thanks!

Nice Dead Like Me: LAD Review…

Here is a great review from markbond20

I’m not going to post it all here, as it’s long — but it’s good to see some positive words about the film.

This film was a love letter to the fans. The original basis of the tv series was to watch George learn responsibility in a setting that taught her the hard way. We finally see George as the adult; the voice of reason. It was time for the other reapers to make mistakes – and the ways they do so are the ways we’ve wanted to see for a long time. I only wish they had given more time to explain the full breadth of consequences the reapers had begun by shirking off their duties. Cameron hinted at some kind of domino effect to put the universe back into balance (the tidal wave in Indonesia, i think) – but this threat needed a dark visual to give the movie more weight.

Marks full review is in the forum — as well as a few more by other members.

Why not share your thoughts on the film or series???

Has anyone seen the film, then decided to try the series? or is it still mainly a film just for the fans of the original show?

Let the stats begin…

4 Days To Go!

4 Days to go until the official release date of the Dead Like Me Movie. A Lot of people have now seen the movie, and we did get a few good reviews yesterday about the film.

It is now possible to see how the movie is being taken by the public — thanks to the many sites out there that give stats.

  • Ok, first — this site… 44% more visitors then last month. Thats Good. +1
  • IMDB is reporting the movie as 6.9/10. Thats also Good.  (IMDB Dead Like Me Page: careful! Lots of spoilers on there) +1

  •  MGM have now given Dead Like Me: Life After Death a page. About Time! +1

  • Amazon are reporting that the film is the 21st best selling DVD in the Movies & TV section. (On a site that that big, 21st isnt bad! It’s ranked No.1 for “Made-for-TV Movies”) +1

Once the film is officially released, there will be some real stats to find on the net. I’m really waiting for the Rotten Tomatoes rank.

At the end of the day — stats mean nothing. You like the film, you don’t. But i’ll continue posting them. :)

Dead Like Me Film Reviews

5 Days To Go!

Having still not seen the new Dead Like Me Movie, I’m still really looking forward to it, and am still very excited :-)

However… It is getting hard to avoid the reviews coming from people who have seen the film. Reviews I’ve seen are very mixed – but MOST seem to be of disappointment.

Here is a review (No spoilers) from “The Edge”, a member in our forum:

I died a little inside watching this. Everything was just so…awful Rube being gone was a disaster from the announcement, when i heard Desmond from Lost i thought ok he might not be too bad. He’s crap in it. His character is just dreadful and no need.

Daisy Adar was just an abomination, new girl didn’t fit at all and even then the characters of Roxy, Mason and Daisy in the film were just rubbish and so unbelievable compared to the Series. I know it was trying to show they had changed but this was too much.

Mobiles instead of Post its? Yuk!

The main storyline was rubbish as well, even Reggie wasn’t as loveable and none of the stuff between her and George seemed believable. Same with Joy and Delores and pretty much everything. Even the Happy Time building was changed far too much.

This seems like I’m picking fault with everything and to be honest. I think i am, watching it was just so painful, waited 5 years for it and it was just soul (pun intended) destroying.

In the past 5 years I’ve been angry about it being upset and would have accepted absolutely anything if it meaning seeing more of Dead Like Me but now i just wish it had been left alone.

I’m staying away from reviews that give away the story line (apart from what I’ve read on the official Dead Like Me site, I know nothing about the film itself)

If you’ve seen the movie, please, join the forum and post your own review! Good or Bad, but I’d really like to see something good about the film we’ve all been waiting for.

Leave your review in the Dead Like Me Forum

Bring on the trumpets

8 Days To Go!

Just over a week now. I’m surprised at how the number of visitors has doubled in such a short time. :)

This site was created to bring you news, gossip and other Dead Like Me information as soon as possible. You guys have really helped me to make that happen, and I’m happy with the way it’s turned out.
I have to admit, we would have been getting a LOT more visitors if I hadn’t have let the site get filled with SPAM so much a few months back, I’m sorry for that. But I still think we’ve done well in such a short time. I’ve just checked and we are currently:

  • No.6 in Google for “Dead Like Me” and “Dead Like Me Film”
  • No.3 for “Dead Like Me Movie”
  • And we have the No.1 Spot for loads of terms like “dead like me news” etc.

Why do I care where the site ranks in Google? I just wanted to see how we did in under a year :) The site makes no money – I’m sure you’ve noticed; there are no ads, or banners (or popups!!) anywhere on the site. It really is just a fan site, with no other intentions.

What will happen to the site in 8 days time?

Well, I would love it if you all stayed and joined the FORUM. Let’s talk Dead Like Me. There will be questions, new people will see the show for the first time and want to talk about the movie or series. This site will still be here that’s for sure.

Please JOIN THE FORUM.

Anyway with that, here’s waiting for day 7 :)
