Ellen Muth Sees the End…

Just read this post in the Dead Like Me Forum by DB7878 (who is now essentially running the site – a true Dead Like Me Fan!!!)

It basiclly says how Ellen Muth saw the movie as an end to the Dead Like Me franchise.

The movie, which is about iconoclastic 18-year old Georgia Lass, who is killed by falling space debris (a toilet seat from a satellite), and becomes a grim reaper. She joins a local grim reaper group and is assigned the task of helping the souls of the newly dead cross into the afterlife. Dead Like Me: Life After Death is a sequel to the Showtime series, Dead Like Me, which ran during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. After its initial run, reruns of the series could be seen on the Science Fiction channel. Jasmine Guy, Callum Blue, Joy Stevenson, and Britt McKillip reprised their television roles for the movie.

A question and answer period followed the film, during which time Muth revealed the bad news that she felt the movie represented the end of the Dead Like Me franchise.

It is sad what happed to the Dead Like Me series, it was really an amazing show. The movie tried to recapture that “magic” – getting (most) of the cast back together, but I felt that somehow it was just different. Very good! – but different.

Despite Ellens thoughts, I would still LOVE to see another Dead Like Me series – or move. There is so much they could still do.

Do you feel Ellens comments suggest the end?

Ellen Muth’s Blog – Drop her a message!

Don’t forget Ellen Muth - the STAR of Dead Like Me — AND of course the STAR of Dead Like Me Movie: “Dead Like Me: Life After Death” — has a MySpace Blog – and you can read it here:

YES! We’ve told you before, but still, incase you missed it.

Why not leave her a message if you have a MySpace Account :)

It’s Dead… In the Dead Like Me World.

There is so little news about the upcoming Dead Like Me Movie, that this blog is basically dead for weeks at a time. Sorry about this – I’ve said it before, if anyone has any news or info AT ALL, just post in the forum, and I’ll put it on the main page for all the world to read ;)

So, what can I tell you that you may not know…

Since posting the article below about 22nd of July being the release date for the movie, it seems more certain the “July” will be the month. The exact day is still not known – but we’ll see.

There is a rumour going around that some of the cast have been required to rerecord certain parts of dialogue due to background noise from a truck. This has also been posted on the Sci Fi channel Dead Like Me Forum.

“Dead Like Me Online” has reported that there will be references to the site (and members?) in the new film. The owner is being very “hush hush” about it, and has set up a competition for people to spot the refrences. Worth a look! If any site should get a mention for helping Dead Like Me come back, it’s DLMO!!

And Finally…

BeBe, a member on here, and on Dead Like Me Online, has started posting some transcripts from Starfury last October.

Here is a little bit of what’s been put:

Susan/Bebe: Hey Ellen, I just wanted to ask did you enjoy going back to make the new DVD movie of Dead Like Me?

Ellen: Very much so, it actually, it changed a lot form the series, I can’t really say what the changes are, but I like them a lot.
We’ve lost two characters, but one has been replaced and the other one seems to have gone oo-o-off [gestures away] where we don’t know where he’s gone off, but then a new character is introduced.
And just going back and seeing the cast again, and you know, reading the new material they wrote and the new ideas that they came up with, it was a lot of fun. And we had all changed over three years, so you see us and like Mason; all of a sudden this skinny, scrawny little shit, is all of a sudden like muscular, I don’t know where that came from! And Delores lost ‘a lot’ of weight, and I still look like me but… I guess! [Giggles] Ah, but other than that, I Mean yeah, I had a good time doing it.

You can read more in the Dead Like Me Online Forum, but you will have to join.

For this great bit of info and pictures.

STP03bluesi was lucky enough to meet the star of Dead Like Me – Ellen Muth!

First walked up to her around 1pm and purchased a photo of her on the bike and had it personalized for my wife. Then thru out the whole show I was looking for something that looked like a reaper…well no luck. So found something else. Spooky – cute little squeeker.

Asked her if she would sign it(I like weird things signed, mostly because they will prob remember it if you see them again). And said if she wanted to doodle on it she was more than welcome. Stumbling my words none the less. :-)

She signed it and drew little eyelashes on it. I was so happy that I packed it up and then turned to walk away and thought I should get a shot of her holding it. So i asked if she would and she agreed :-)

STP03bluesi didn’t get Ellen to spill any news or info on the Dead Like Me Movie, but meeting her in person must have been good enough! :-)

Patricia Idlette / Kiffany will NOT be in the Dead Like Me Movie

Patricia Idlette / KiffanyPatricia Idlette will NOT be in the Dead Like Me Movie…

Here is a bit of bad news for all your Dead Like Me Fans – Everyone’s favourite waitress Kiffany played by Patricia Idlette will NOT be in the movie.

Der Waffle Haus (if it is featured?) will never be the same again… :-(

Many Dead Like Me Fans had their suspensions that Kiffany was someone of more importance then she appeared, some fans even thought that she could even be a reaper, like Rube, Daisy, Mason, Roxy, and of course George.

Let’s hope Patricia Idlette and Kiffany will return in a new series of Dead Like Me if the DVD sales are high enough.

Ellen Muth Stars in Dead Like Me Movie

Ellen Muth Stars in Dead Like Me Movie

Great News for fans of Dead Like Me the Series – The Movie WILL star the present leading actress Ellen Muth.Ellen stars as Georgia ‘George’ Lass, a young Seattle college dropout who joins the ranks of “undead” in the form of a grim reaper.

This amazing news has been found on 3 reliable websites, and is backend up by Ellen Muth’s own MySpace profile.

Can this be the first sign that MGM plan to include all other previous cast members? We hope so. Only time will tell, and we will let you know as soon as we do.

Who Will Star in Dead Like Me Movie?

Dead Like Me Movie Cast

The top question on Dead Like Me fans minds are “Who will star in the movie?”
It’s an important question. And the answer could make the all the difference.

Obviously fans want the original cast members – but since Dead Like Me’s cancellation in 2004, most have gone onto other projects. (See: Dead Like Me Cast)

Does the Dead Like Me Movies success depend on who is chosen? The answer to this has to be a BIG YES. The people at MGM know this. A straight to DVD movie depends on a target audience. Previous fans. If MGM want to make money on this film, they know that getting the original cast is number one on their list of “things to do”.

A new cast would be off-putting to the shows previous/current fans. Although the movie has just been announced the prediction here is you can expect to see the original cast in this movie.
