After some research to confirm, the release date for the straight to DVD “Dead Like Me Movie” / “Dead Like Me Film” has now been set as:
17th February 2009
Dead Like Me: Life After Death as the movie is called, will be released at the same time as the new Dead Like Me – The Complete Series Giftset.

Hasn’t anyone picked up on the technical error in the synopsis at that deadlikemedvd.com site? It says “20 something” – WHEN ANY TRUE FAN knows exactly how old George is… and it isn’t 20-something. Perhaps this site is all a hoax by some poorly reasearched group of people looking for attention and web hits? There seems evidence that there is a movie out there somewhere; I wish we knew where the OFFICIAL site was – I’m not convinced that’s it.

When mentioning that I checked in regularly, planning to grab the first copy of the movie and was chomping at the bit to some of my students, jaws dropped! After learning that an old guy like me was an unusual fan, I also learned that there were lots of people waiting.
Somehow I hope, like many of the best things ever produced for the screens, that the movie fires up so much interest that we see you playing that role until you are as old and grey as me [{:-)

I just watched the movie on super channel. It was great and you have to go out and buy the dvd when it comes out. It is a 5 out of 5!!!!!!!!!

Soooooo cant wait for this movie. I’m still watching the series on The Si-Fi Channel {again}. It has to be one of the best shows ever. Why do things like “Lost” get series after series {which everybody is fed up with} and Dead Like Me fans are told — there mite be a series 3 if enough D.V.D.s are sold!!!! All sounds like a con to me… I will buy it and not download it but there should be at least a promised series 3 for the fans who have remained LOYAL for so long to this show… So fingers {and everything else i have}are crossed for a new series……. The so called Dead Like Me Movie, is actually just a one-off feature-length special straight to DVD release called “Dead Like Me: Life After Death” … The release that I have been privy to see will have all your favorite characters that you all remember and love (with the exception of Rube – which in my opinion is a dame shame!) The story itself is just a continuation of Georgies good work as a “reaper” but with a twist, the rules and consquences that were mentioned in Season1 and 2 are explored with some humous results. Mason is still the lovable skitty English rogue, Daisy is back in a new form (not a very good one to be honest) but great to see the return of my favourite Roxy still as voilent and ballsy as I remember. All n all is a very good watch, enjoyable and well worth the expensive of the DVD when released, I certainly will be spending some of my hard earned cash to add this to my DVD collection and I recommend all you Die Hard Dead Like Me Fans and those who are new to the series do the same. In the response to the future of the series if the DVD sales are very good and the network is hounded for the return of this Cult series then the possibility of a return could be in the future but I wouldn’t hold my breath on this. I would love to see the return of the show but until that happens at least I will have this “movie” and the “Giftset” (pre-order rules!) to keep me company and keep my addition to Gravelins at bay.

Couple of points however….Bring Rub back, dump the new Daisy and at any or all costs, get the old Daisy back.
By all means…..start shooting season 3.

I just got my hands on the dvd from a friend was great, Rube was missed though
. I will without a doubt be buying the dvd myself soon.. For now at least fingers crossed on a season 3, lets see how George fairs at being in charge, if indeed that is what the post its falling at the end means…..

well i just finished watching the film for the 7th time, i do hope that they make a 3rd season as i WOULD LIKE TO SEE how george, takes on the role of the postit keeper thing,

I am relatively new to the series. I just started to watch it the other day and I found myself hooked. I watched seasons 1 and 2 in 2 days. And the movie. A shame that a series like this could be yanked so easily for not being mainstream. I can understand them getting the axe from showtime. But I think that they could find a very nice home for season 3 on the sci-fi channel. All they really show on that channel is cheasy low budget films anyways. Thoughts on the movie? Rube not being in it was a definate dissapointment. He was a very big part of the original series for me. He sort of tied everything together. Daisy. Not a fan of the new incarnation. A little too slutty. All in All. I would pay lots and lots of American dollars to see a season 3 of this show. I was not aware that there were only 2 seasons when I began watching it and if I was I would not have wasted my time. 2 seasons is just simply not long enough to enjoy a show of such caliber. There I said my piece. PLEASE o PLEASE bring this series back.

I’m not sure a 3rd season is worth it considering how they screwed the whole series for me with that awful movie. Then again if they just pretended the movie hadn’t happened and got the original cast back I’d be all for it; because the 2 seasons that were made were absolutely awesome. Again I’ll reiterate the movie and the changes that they made with it were crap, but the series was amazing and would love to see more of it

I agree. The movie was a disgrace to the show. Whenever someone asks about Dead Like Me, I always refer them to the show and not the movie. I don’t want anyone to watch the movie first, because that would give them a completely unrealistic idea of what the show is about!
I would love for there to be a season 3, and I would unquestionably watch it. However, I do hope that if it ever happens, that they get the original Daisy back. She was a fabulous character and the new girl just could not pull it off.

Yeah, I was so disappointed in the movie. None of the characters acted like themselves at all, with the slight exception of the one moment when Mason went to watch Daisy’s show and we finally got to see how much he cared for her like he did in the series. Roxy would never have gone along with breaking the rules to that extent, Daisy was way too much of a stupid slut in the movie (she was quite a bit deeper than that in the series), Mason wouldn’t have just brushed off the Waffle House burning down (it was the only place he could call home at the end of the second season) or Rube’s disappearance (as throughout the series we saw that Mason actually did look forward to any time Rube complimented him – kind of like seeking approval from a strict father), and George shouldn’t have been able to tell Reggie anything that revealed herself (it was pointed out in one of the first episodes that the reapers are physically incapable of talking about their past lives – remember George going home and not being able to tell her Mom who she was???). Not to mention all of them would have known what would and would not work in getting rid of Cameron. They’re reapers, for crying out loud! Mason was shot twice in the series, electrocuted, run over by a car, and drank dry ice – he of all people would know what was required to dispose of a reaper. Not to mention the fact that they really shouldn’t heal that quickly. George’s finger didn’t heal that fast when she cut it off in the series, and all the above mentioned times dealing with Mason, he’s come back bandaged or burned or cut, etc, and they do feel the pain, which lead to another out-of-character moment when Mason let himself get shot robbing the store. He wouldn’t have done that!!!! It still hurts!!!! I hope they make a season 3, but I hope whatever writers they had for the movie aren’t involved and that whoever may work on the new season must watch the first two religiously before attempting to make a third. Fans want their characters to be the same ones they fell in love in seasons one and two, not the parodies of them that were created for the movie.

Okay i LOVE THE SHOW!!! But the moive, it got rid of the real dasiy and rube. LIKE WHAT THE HECK. It never explained anything, it was kinda pointless. I want them to keep making the show, because i love it. But i want dasiy and rube back. And everything from the movie explained!

PLEASE!!! PLEASE ALREADY!!! Give us loyal fans a season 3…4, 5, and 6!!! There are so many diffferent directions to take this series in, so much more to tell. I wanna know about Rube’s past, was he a gangster for the mob, a hit man…explain! Are Reggie and George going to see each other every halloween? Will they break the rules? What’s their punishment? Daisy’S character got so deep towards the end of the second season, what’s in her past? I want the original Daisy back, she made that role. How much more info does Rube get that he doesn’t put on the post-its? How come George could reap a graveling? What is the origin of the gravelings? HOW COULD YOU NOT CONTINUE THIS SERIES??? Season three would be a breeze to write, so many questions need answers!!! COME ON MGM, SHOWTIME, AND WHOEVER ELSE IS IN THE MIX, START WRITING!!!! DEAD LIKE ME HAS A HUGE FAN BASE, AND WE WANT MORE!!!!

Ok, LAD wasn’t great and had some holes in it, but I loved seeing the characters again and the whole concept of flawed reapers. I thought the maturation of George was good and her last words were perfect. Given the choice of no movie and a flawed movie, I take the movie. The chances are not high for more series with original writers and cast but one can hope.

I saw the movie and it was alright…I mean like Daisy was played by a fake.I think they should make season 3 so they show what happens in the 5 years in from the show to the movie. If yall like the idea well then go ahead steal from a 10 year old with a dream…ME :’(

I really love this show, I just recently started watching it on tv, and I can`t understand why it got canceled.Im not sure to say how many people watch it here in Romania but I`m sure I`m not the only one that loves it. There are shows like True Blood…and other crap out there (this is my personal opinion) that still run and one good show gets canceled .

Just finished watching season 2 today and then the movie just 20 mins ago…
Daisy was rubbish and no Rube..what!? I really expected it to be more like season 1 and 2 but it seemed really different!! I kept telling myself “Rube will be back any time now” but nope.
For season 3 (if and I hope when its made) Rube and Daisy need to be back and played by the originals. Rube is such a big character in the series it’s not the same show without him. The yellow post-its at the end suggest that he’ll be back if there is a season 3 and I really hope MGM pull it out of the bag for us! Not a great movie but the show was fantastic!

Dead Like Me: The show is an informative way for kids/anybody to relate to death and has a grand understanding of such in an entertaining fashion. The characters are wonderfully chosen and truly funny which is why the show SHOULD continue into several more series. Weeds and Dexter are not mainstream yet they continue to come back. Why NOT Dead Like Me? Life is tragic, this show is not although not continuing, would be tragic!
Do a better job in making folks happy with this shows return. I JUST found it and watched the 2 Seasons from Netflix with my daughter and fell in love. It is charming, friendly and warm.

What in the hell actually happened to Rube???? And who burned down the waffle house?? The whole plot seems really sketchy to me. Did Kiffany die in the fire? you’d think with how often they saw her in the show they would be slightly concerned. I’m sooo disappointed with all the questions we’re left with. Another season! A better movie! SOMETHING! Hell even a short story answering all our questions would be welcome

It seems to me that one of the cable channels would be smart to pick up the rights for DLM and go ahead with the project. If they could get some of the same writers back, even a change in the actors might be tolerated. Thars monie in them thar deaths…………

I NEED MORE!!!!! I just barely found out about this show like a week ago while going through Netflix on my xbox. I accidentally watched the movie first thinking it was the pilot, didn’t figure out my mistake til I had already watched the movie first THEN the episodes which kinda made me irritated. Til I realized at least I will have a different response but the same one in a way as everyone else. Wtf with Rube leaving with so many questions unanswered and wtf with the new Daisy? Ewes… Ahhh..!!! And WTF with no season 3, 4, 5, 6, etc…..??????? ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

I wished I had known about this show sooner, it was so fantastic. It was a genuinely funny show with well-developed characters and was worth more than it got. You’d have thought they would have tried to promote Dead Like Me more so the fanbase could have been larger and not have ended so early. A third season really would be brilliant, especially with all the unanswered questions to deal with. However, the movie kind of was dreadful. All the characters’ differences and Rube’s disappearance made it painful to watch and the entire plot line had holes in it (like the reapers not being capable of admitting their existence in the show and the entire film depending on the opposite belief).
I know it’s been quite a while, but I think there’s a lot of people out there who want more DLM badly and I’m one of them.

Why cant there be a 3rd season??? Heck a 4th, 5th, 6,th…you know!!! This is very upsetting!!! I ve been wish for a good show!! Now that I found one…well questions are left unanswered!!! And its just depressing…(ps…the movie left me more confused and depressed :/ ) Ok…. So, point being that I WANT THIS SHOW BACK!!!!!! Please…. ;/
