Comments on: Dead Like Me: Life After Death Released!!!

Please Note: There are some spoilers in my comments!
I was new to Dead Like Me and caught the series on Netflix. I was sad to learn that the TV show was cancelled and thought I would enjoy the movie. I was wrong. I thought that the movie was not a continuation, did not have the same quality of writing and definitely misses Laura Harris as Daisy Adair.
It seemed to me like the four writers invoved with the movie each took a storyline, and then tried to connect them- failing miserably.
The movie was more like an 1 hour 45 minute intro. It didn’t tell us what happend to Rube, and in the middle of the movie it brought a whole new twist to reaping (there is a point where you “reap” enough that you can go into the light!) I would have started the moive with Jasmine Guy telling the story of why Rube was no longer there and I would not have brought back the Daisy Adair character- because Laura Harris had it nailed and anyone else pales in comparision. Bring back the show!!!

I thought it was good.

There were a few things I missed (spoilers below):
-Der Waffle House (so sad about the breakfast nook)
-Laura Harris
-Mandy Patinkin (but the Christian character made for good story)

I did love Ellen, as usual, and thought the Delores and Murray story was fitting provided this show really is about dealing with death.

Good stuff. The ending was nice but allowed for future content should they make something else.

My husband and I just watched the movie – we were so happy to have more Dead Like Me and so much of the original cast! It was a little different from the series but still really good! I did miss the opening – always thought it was funny (could have maybe worked it into the closing credits

We really missed the show and even dropped Showtime after they dropped Dead Like Me. I hope there will be more to come!

We thought it was as good as the series.

“Life After Death” did not come across as a continuation of the TV series. It had the feel of a pilot. It was nice to see most of the original cast signed on to do the movie. However, the introduction of a new character would have been a better fit since Laura Harris was not available to play Daisy. The movie didn’t have the same feel as the TV show but that’s hard to replicate in the shortened time frame. Overall, it was entertaining. I feel there is still room for the characters to grow. I would welcome another movie if they can get the core cast to reprise their roles.

I just got done watching it and I really liked it. I am kind of upset that everyone is being a movie/tv show snob and thinking that after 5 years that each character will be the exact same. I actually like the way they handled George’s family and their developement over a 5 year span. The one draw back is I would have liked Daisy to be show as a stronger character not so dim witted.
