New Head Reaper and New Daisy…
It is now known that a new head reader named: Cameron Kane will be replacing Rube.
Cameron Kane will be played by Henry Ian Cusick. Most of you will know Cusick as Desmond Hume from the hit show “Lost”.
At the end of series 2 of Dead Like Me, Rube was trying to find out why money sent to his family never reached it’s destination. Has Kane been sent in as a temp until Rube returns?? It would make a great way to bring Mandy Patinkin back to the series.
Also, Laura Harris’s “Daisy Adair”, will be played by Sarah Wynter from shows such as “The Dead Zone”, “24” and Windfall.
Can you live with another Daisy? Would you be happy with a permanent replacement to Rube? Let us know in the form…

i can’t live with another daisy! i still wanna see the film real bad but i can’t imagine daisy played by anyone else and i’m already prepared for hating the new daisy.
It won’t be the same without rube, but replacing the character is better than replacing the actor.

Very pleased to hear about the new film. Not so happy about the cast changes. I can deal with Cameron Kane, but I do hope that Rube comes back in the future. As for ‘remaking’ Daisy, well, I would have personally preferred a new character than someone else taking over the role

Rube was my favorite character, how odd and sad it will be to not see him in film.
As for Daisy, let’s not get started on my dissappointment.

I’m so excited and only found out today that this movie is coming out. This was the best series since the Twilight Zone and I can’t believe Showtime wasn’t smart enough to keep it or even sell it to another network. Thank you for producing this movie. I’m so excited, and can’t wait until I see it! Awesome!

I’m certainly looking forward to the film, original cast intact or not. I’m fairly pleased with the new actors being signed on — Sarah Wynter should be a fine Daisy, and since she is a virtual sister to Laura Harris, it feels like the role is at least staying in the family.
Henry Ian Cusick is a fantastic actor (and a great-looking guy), so I’m actually curious to see how his character will complement the ensemble.
It is disappointing to see that Kiffany won’t be back. I always felt that she and Crystal, while maybe not “reapers,” somehow saw the reapers for what they were, or maybe they were checking up on them for quality control purposes.
But to have Joy and Reggie back will be a great thrill, especially since Reggie has grown so much in the past couple of years. And I can’t WAIT to see Delores Herbig again!

But Laura Harris HAS to play Daisy Adair! She was perfecttt for the part.
GRRRRR.

It’s OK for me to see Rube getting out. But getting out to find his robbery money(How much is that? 500 bucks?). That line is lame! Does it still matter to him? His family is all DEAD! Except in case that his wife rejected the money intentionally, I don’t see any point chasing some 80-year-old greenbacks instead of having a decent memorial of his family.
The new Daisy…Well, let’s see how good she could deal with it. Remember, Daisy was not the original character either. I still prefer to see Betty in the story line. She is a character! But, well, she’s replaced. If she can be replaced why can’t Daisy be? But I think they’d better replace the whole character, not just the actor. And Laura .. she is very very Daisy, as far as I can see in her interview.

OMG.. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.. They can’t replace Daisy!!! I’ve seen the trailer & the new “actress” (if you can call her that!) just OUTDOES all the good & loveability that Laura brought to the role… Plus what’s with Reggie turning HOT?!? This film just seems rushed or something & not very true to the original characters that we all fell in love with.. Not sure if I’ll even watch it now… Let’s just hope that perhaps this is just a film to get “Dead Like Me” picked up again & when it goes back to TV we get the right characters back…

I can’t believe it! No, you don’t just put in a new Daisy. Without Laura Harris there is no Daisy. Come on now no Rube that’s just crazy. I mean that’s like “Northern Exposure” without Dr. Fleshman. Dead like on arrival…BRS

Sorry, the new daisy sucked, wasn’t as pretty and the character was written nothing like the original. No wonder Laura Harris didn’t take the part. Daisy’s character was even a bad actress in this movie when she performed on stage. In the series, she demonstrated that she was really good. As in the scene where she convinced the guy to cheat on his wife, and in the first episode she was in acted as a depressed person fooling Millie. That and Rube being out of the cast sucked. I could live with Ellen Muth having aged so much, but the rest was a shame. Too bad.

Good comparison with Northern Exposure’s replacement. The show went down the toilet after that and so did this.
